Truth, Karma, and the Restitution of Balance
by Andrew Rutajit
Knowledge and the quest for truth is the fundamental key in sustaining
this life. Impeding someone's quest for truth may very well be one of
the worst of all sins. Stopping the growth and the spread of truth is
equally as bad as knowing truth and denying it. However, punishment for
these sins by way of Karma is not anything similar to eternal the
damnation some believe await evil doers in the afterlife. Karma will
not set you on a path to absolute destruction.
Love is the law... love is the only law.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you - love your neighbors
as yourself. Karma does not know anger, Karma only knows balance.
Karma, the Great Mother of the Mysteries, will not allow you to escape
the consequences of your own actions; eternal punishment will teach you
nothing. This quest for truth has taken on many forms throughout
antiquity, and many religions have been created regarding this quest.
Often, a glimpse of truth is like a ray of light illuminating a
darkened room; it gives a vision of a better way, or a better life. It
may not come with complete directions on how to obtain this better way,
but it does show you possibilities for improvement. Sometimes this
comes with embarrassment as you are shown that you are a part of the
problem. With this embarrassment comes the recognition for the need to
change or the need to grow --- better yet, the need to find truth and
to use it as a building block for your future. Little by little,
through constant trial and error, we discover that we are physically a
part of a growing world. We are a part of nature; we are not foreign to
this world.
The plant kingdom is also a living entity; working in harmony with
insects and other life forms, it (like us) spreads its seeds worldwide.
It too has its beginnings and its endings, its comings and goings, but
the plant kingdom is as eternal as Mother Earth herself. And if her
kingdom becomes abused and/or corrupted, she, like all of us kings and
queens of our kingdom/body, will take actions to restore
balance…nature’s karma.
We are all masters of the universe that is our own body. As individual
lords and masters, it is easy to force our body into slavery; the body
is ignored, it is mistreated, it is victimized and it suffers simply
for the gratification of the mind that dwells within it. Our body
operates as a temple or castle, protecting and housing our soul. When a
person, or rather, when a kingdom tries to overtake or conquer another
kingdom (i.e. when someone tries to control or manipulate someone
else), war may ensue in order to protect truth and restore balance.
